Sore Knees

Hi everyone

I havent ran it 4 days and my knees are still sore. It doesnt hurt to walk but if i jog or run my knees get sore. Is there something im doing wrong I just started jogging a few weeks ago.. Can it be as simple as changing my shoes to fix the problem.. As so when i run it seems my calves get tired before i run out of breathe is there some exercises i can do at home to strengthen them.. Thanks
 
do you stretch? IT band was causing my knee pain. started stretching it no more probs. dont knwo about the calf thing maybe stretching will help that too.
 
I do warm ups for about 15 min before running i went out today and found that after running for about .5 km my knee felt better. It has been raining for a few days and there is no sign of the rain going away.. What the best way to stay in shape on the rainy days or weeks
 
i little water never hurt anyone. i think it might motivate you to speed up and get it over with. i run in the rain if its my run day. but it doesnt rain that much here. t sux i just put on a light weght gor-tex (its just a shell) and some shorts. dri-fit shorts and run i might run less distance but i still run.

if the pain went away during the run i had the same thing outside of knee pain would go away after a few minutes. if thats what you are feeling no swellng or fluid its more than likely your IT band i had the same issue make sure you stretch it.

Try stretching before hand. Nice gentle stretching. I love running in the rain, but that's just me.
