some questions

I hope this is in the right place...anyways,

I started doing cardio excercise a little over a month ago. I gues things have been going alright. In a month I've gone from 199lbs. to 191lbs. I got some questions though about my cardio routine.

At the moment I run/jog for about 15 minutes, then I keep going with about 10 minutes of stationary bike, and then 5-10 minutes of jump rope.

I try to excercise about 1 hour a day by splitting my excercise routines to two 30 min. sessions. Is this a good thing to do? Or should I just get my work out done all at once.

Also, I'm really trying to get down to a weight of around 180 maybe 175 by mid april for a spring break trip to florida...and I want my body to look decent. I'm not aiming for a sixpack by then, I'll focus more on that afterwards for summer, but I atleast want to get a flatter stomach and get rid of the fat on my sides. Will doing enough cardio such as running/jogging get rid of all that? or do I need to do some excercise that involve using the stomach area a lot?

I hope this all makes sense. I just keep wondering to myself if Im wasting my time by doing something wrong...

According to the American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM), it is fine to split up your workout throughout the day. I think it is probably beneficial for you to do that so that you can work hard in each workout session. Do you do the same workout in each session?? Do you do any resistance training at all?? That would help you to lose fat as well and build muscle. The ACSM recommends that you do resistance training 2-3 times a week with your major muscle groups. Make sure you exercise your back muscles as much as your front to avoid injury. I think that will benefit you a lot. If you want a more toned stomach, cardio is definitely a good start, but different forms of sit ups are also beneficial. I would also recommend using a stability ball for toning the abdominal region. You can find a lot of different exercises on the web.

I hope this helps.
