I've heard plenty of gruesome work-related stories from my woodshop teacher and from my dad who worked in a lumber mill.
The one that stuck with me the most had to be about a guy who was working with some metal. He was drilling into it, and not wearing goggles. He thought he felt something go into his eye, but then it didn't hurt, so he thought he was fine. The next morning, in the white of his eye, there was a little red ring forming. He went to the doctor an it turned out to be rust from the metal shaving that was lodged in is eye.
