Sport Sodium?

Sport Fitness
I know sodium is bad for water retention, however I don't have any idea just what sodium is? What direct foods have high amounts of sodium in them? What amount of sodium (in mg) is considered a high amount?

Any help would be highly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance

USRDA is something like 2000mg a day.

whole, unprocessed foods are low in sodium. ergo on a clean diet, you can feel free to add a little salt to meats, eggs, and cooked veggies.

but when your typical microwave dinner contains 45% of your daily sodium intake in one serving, you can see why its so easy for teh typical american to get 3 times their daily sodium intake between convenience foods, fast foods, and our love of dumping 1g of salt on everything!
