Sport sodium

is it bad to get 100% daily value of sodium? better to steer clear of it as much as possible? anddddd what daily value of sodium is lethal, like 200%?

well you need sodium in your diet to help retain some water.. and i doubt that 200% sodium is lethal.. i know people who put salt on everything, literally. and they've gotta consume @ least 300% the dv...

Sodium RDA is under 2400mg in the US (and under 1400 in the UK). The American Heart Association says any more than 3000mg is dangerous, but the average American gets 4000mg - 5000mg a day. So 200% clearly isn't lethal -- not instantly anyway.

High levels of sodium are linked to high blood pressure and blood disease. It's recommended that you get no more than 50% of the RDA when you can help it - high levels of sodium simply aren't good for you.

i dont get high levels of sodium. but we got this lunch meat stuff that has 1g of fat for 5g of protein. but its like that fake lunch meat i guess (compressed left over meat with water?). it has dextrose in it so it has some carbs....funny huh? but yeah it has sodium in it. more than it should.

processed meats are very poor protein choices. All that processing strips lots of aminos out of the protein.

lol i guess it was really cheap, but i havent had any since, it tastes really bad. my mom buys lots of senceless(sp?) things. if its on sale shell waste the money. i get on her back about it alot, its why most of the stuff is hidden in the trunk. like clothes ( hiding int he trunk, hmm good use for clothes ) chicken roasters etc etc. list goes on. plus her smoking habit.

ahh, so she's one of those impulse buyers with no willpower to say 'no' to a 'good deal'. I know the type. My dad's similiar, though it always has to do with gadgets.

lol yeah i guess so. but it bothers me that she buys it and just makes it basically useless by hiding it from me!! whats the point!? ah well, nothing i can really do i guess
