Anyone obsessing on the sodium amount in water bottles? Oh my God! I am becoming one of them! The less sodium the less water retention, right?

I have been looking into bottles with sodium as little as 1.5mg.

Anyone else doing the same? or it is just fine to have normal water??

the body requires sodium. Specially if you're active with cardio to replenish it from sweat. With any diet thats rich in whole natural foods, your sodium intake will be fine. low even. Take a look at _any_ sports drink. ever wonder what electrolytes are? sodium and potassium which are required for the body for functioning.

By the way, take a guess at what the side effect of too little sodium is? Death. Ever hear of water poisoning? It's not from too much water, but from a lack of sodium from it being diluted too much in the body. While I forget the exact mechanic, it's something like the brain sends electric impulses to all the organs for them to function. Too much water or too little sodium means those signals are unable to transmit. Voila, cardiac arrest.

long story short, normal water is fine. 2000mg of sodium a day is what you should be taking in. more if you're heavy in cardio activity.

Not quite.

Read this and this.
