So what is it..?

hey everybody... i'm knew to this board. I have been reading some of the really great post on here and i have a question.
Everyone is talking about Cardio... well what exactly is cardio :confused: ... i need some ways to lose weight so... I hope this helps :)

well, a really simple way to think of cardio is anything that makes you sweat. Cardiovascular exercises include things like running, walking, biking, jumping rope, kickboxing, etc... You want to bring our heart rate up (ie: cardio) through the exercise to burn the calories.
 
simple answer: cardio is short for cardiovascular exercises ... and add in everything else amomono said ... diet alone isn't enough to lose weight and keep it off ... besides, cardio is great for your heart and lungs whether you are in or out of shape.
