I'm 6'1, 212 pounds, male and I'm on a low calorie diet. :x

I plan to have 3 bowls of special k (with skim milk), 2 vitamins, 1 rice cake, 2 liters of sugar (and calorie) free kool aid everyday for about a month.

It adds up to about 600-700 calories per day, I'm not the most active person so I don't think I'd lose weight if I did the normal 1200 calories thing..

I know there'll be people who disagree with this diet but really I don't have enough money to buy fish / vegetables / yogurt every few days.

Please don't yell at me <_< Another thing you don't know about me is I'm what you call a yo-yo dieter, When I'm in the 180s I feel healthy and I look healthy when I'm above 200 I look really bad And I get chest pains.. So yeah I think this diet is better than my current diet (big bag of chips every few days + peanut butter abuse)

YOu come to the board, post about eating a dangerously unhealthy diet, and ask people not to yell at you?

Ok.

Nothing else I can say then, except that what you're doing is dangerous and stupid - and apparently you know it and plan to continue anyway.

Good luck with that.

good luck when you reach your goal weight. you do realize you'll gain it all back and then some right?

Okay I find it strange how when I eat a whole pizza, a big bag of chips or a box of chocolates I'm a "victim of the cruel world" but when I try to do something about it I'm "stupid" and I'm doing something "dangerously unhealthy" that seems kinda double standard to me..

I'm just trying to lose weight like the rest of you, I don't have the same resources as you guys so I'm resorting to this. I would love to lose weight the "normal" way but I can't..

Anyways I lost 4 pounds already :) go me

Who said that?

When you eat a whole pizza, a bag of chips, and a box of chocolates - that's stupid. Not that some of us haven't done it before ... but it's still stupid. It was stupid when I did it, too (and btw, that would be a whole medium pizza, 2 bags of kettle chips, and a container of Ben & Jerry's in one sitting).

When you try to make up for that by starving yourself - that's also stupid. Again, not that any of us haven't done it before ... but it's still stupid. It was just as stupid when I did it and tried to starve myself into being thin. It took me a long time to learn exactly what a stupid thing it was ... and I hope that others don't have to learn it the hard way like I did.

So no double standard there. Both are equally stupid actions.

but when I try to do something about it I'm "stupid"
First of all, I didn't call YOU stupid. I said what you're *doing* is stupid and dangerous. And it is. And you know it is or you wouldn't have asked us not to yell at you. You know that what you're doing is not healthy and not the right way to do it ... or you wouldn't have been defensive about it in your first post. :)

I'm just trying to lose weight like the rest of you, I don't have the same resources as you guys so I'm resorting to this. I would love to lose weight the "normal" way but I can't..
Why can't you? What "resources" don't you have that the rest of us have?

Do you have the ability to choose healthy food?
Do you have the ability to walk?
Do you have the ability to drink water?

Then you have exactly what many of us have. You don't need fancy gourmet food, a gym, or lots of money to lose weight. You just need to be healthy.

Well I can walk.. and since you forced it out of me: I have anthropophobia so I avoid leaving the house at all costs and I can't afford a treadmill so I resort to "starving" myself to lose weight..

I'm 203 now (that's -9 pounds) :biggrinjester: and it's only been about a week, I cheated so many times too (I had 1200 calories on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday and about 1600 yesterday)

I think this is the best diet I've ever been on.. I'm not "starving" at all yeah I feel hungry at times but I went on real hardcore starvation diets before (300 cals a day) and this is nothing compared to those.

Since your a chronic yo-yo dieter you should know the ups and downs that come with it. Is it really worth it to lose weight and then gain it all back again once your eating normally resumes. Losing that much weight in a short period of time and gaining it back is really unhealthily. No ones here to attack you, but we are offering advice. 600-800 kcal is a severely low caloric intake especially for a man your age and size. You shuold really be careful because by just eating special K which by the way has little to no fiber is completely lacking in vitamins and minerals (despite youre efforst of making it up with a multi-vitamin), so once that wears off you're going ot be hungry and more likely to binge. Which you had mentioned in your later post of "cheating"...The weight loss your probably experiencing right now is more than likely due to water retenion. If you still want to restrict your calories the lowest reccommended intake should be around 1,200. Also a little variety woudlnt be so bad as well...if you have a fear of going outside of your house I know that there are multiple grocery stores than can deliver healthy produce and you can get exercise dvds to help. You have options. Special K and Kool-aid are not your only ones. Try and incorporate fruits and veggies intor your diet. Canned and frozen produce is often much cheaper and contains most of the same nutrients that fresh does.

Also, in my personal opinion, you are being quite iggnorant by posting this message and expecting favorable replies. Everyone is here to help one another and we are trying to help you succeed.

Good luck....
