Sport Fitness
Ever since going to the gym i am geting so freaking hungry and i get hungry again like every 2 hours even if i fill my self up heeps. its craaaaaaaazzy

I know what you mean, i'm the same. But it's a good thing as long as you continue to eat good food.

The following is one of my favarite articles written by someone else. Now, its gets pretty bold (read between the lines, and get what he is pushing. I dont COMPLETELY AGREE but for the MOST PART I do):

A popular question that I hear is about how to stop giving in to food cravings. How to stop eating your favorite junk food. Maybe it’s chocolate or ice-cream or candy of some kind, or maybe it’s cookies and cake, or potato chips or fast food, or something you just love to eat, but need to stop eating because it is junk food. Whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight, no matter what your goals are, everyone likes some kind of junk food and needs to stop eating it now. But, some people just can't stop. They just can't "get rid of the cravings" for these foods, and just can't stop giving in to their food cravings.

Before I go any further, let me be honest. I am going to get mean in this article. I am sure I will offend a whole bunch of people. My goal of this article is to get my point of view across, a point of view that I feel very strongly about, and I am sure a lot of people will disagree with it, but oh well. I want to get my point of view across in the exact way that I have it in my head, so I will NOT sweeten it up so that I don't hurt people's feelings or make them angry with me. I want to get my point across in such a way that it motivates everyone reading this article. So, if you have a problem with that, stop reading. If you don't, then here goes...

SHUT UP!!!! Who the hell are you to whine to me? Shut up already!! Sure, I can completely understand if your problems with getting the results you want are from the wrong information about your workout or diet. I've been there before. I used to do the wrong stuff. But after I finally learned the right stuff, I made this website so others don't have that problem. I want to save you time, money and effort by giving you free truthful information about how to get the results you want. But, this isn't about your diet or workout. This isn't about you wasting money on some useless ab workout product or stupid weight loss product or other useless supplements and gimmicks that weren't working for you. This is about food cravings. Don't whine to me. I've heard it before...

"It's so hard, I'm around this type of food all the time, the cravings just won't go away, I have a sweet tooth, I just have to give in to the cravings."

Stop it, you're boring me.

Don't give me your little stories. Like how you are around this type of food all the time. Do you think you are the only one, buddy? Everyone I know and am related to eats junk food all day long. This crappy food is everywhere I look. I am no different than you, except, I don't give in. Do I have super human powers? No. Do I not give in because my arms are bigger than yours? No. Do I not give in because I can bench press more than you? No. Do I not give in because my body fat is lower than yours? No. Do I not give in because I am physically better or physically stronger than you? No. I don't give in because I am mentally stronger than you. That's all it is really, mental. And for you to give in and me not to give in, we can only assume that I am mentally stronger than you. How does that make you feel? I don't know a damn thing about you, but I know that mentally, I can do something that you cannot. It sure makes me feel good though. That fact motivates me even more. So, thanks for being so mentally weak. It will make me work that much harder during my next workout. Thanks a lot.

Sorry, did I hurt your feelings yet? I didn't mean to, I'm just stating the truth. It's not my fault if the truth hurts. You understand now that this is all mental, right? You understand that it's all a matter of mental strength and will power, don’t you? Good. Here's what you do. Next time your little food cravings start coming out, think about this. Look at the food and think, "What do I want more… the 5 seconds of enjoyment that I will have while I chew this food, or the enjoyment of the fact that 24 hours of everyday, 7 days of every week, I will have the body that I want to have." That is what it comes down to really, and let me tell you... no food tastes as good as that feeling feels.

And you other people, you bull****ters. The ones that give me that idiotic speech about how "every food is ok if eaten in moderation." And how "no one should deny themselves anything." These are the same people who probably believe in having "Cheat days." Cheat days are the 1 day of the week where some people allow themselves to cheat a little from their diet and give into their food cravings, in moderation of course, kind of like a reward for the good work they did all week. Ya know what... BULL****! The hell with you and your cheat days. Your reward for sticking to your diet all week is 1 day of cheating? What kind of complete crap is this? Your reward for sticking to your diet all week is RESULTS! Remember them? They’re the reason that you are on this diet and working out in the first place. To get results!!! Not to have a cheat day at the end of the week.

Every food is ok as long as it's eaten in moderation. One candy bar won't hurt. One cookie won't hurt. One piece of junk food won't hurt. Oh, is that so? Will it help? No, it will not help. It is doing nothing good for you in any way possible. Therefore, it serves no purpose. You are giving into your cravings for 5 seconds of chewing enjoyment, and nothing more.
If anything, it does more bad than good. Do you know what giving into your food cravings "in moderation" does to most people? It makes them feel guilty. It makes them crave that food even more. It keeps the cravings alive and strong. Stop giving in to your cravings and the cravings will go away. Simple as that.

What are you thinking now? Who am I? Like I never cheat or give into my cravings a little? NO! I don't! Not at all, not a little, not in moderation, not anything. The thought of eating some type of junk food doesn't even enter my mind anymore. I don't need those 5 seconds. I am stronger than that. Call it will power, or call it mental strength. My goal is to get results. My road to getting those results doesn't have to have 5 seconds of chewing pleasure. I eat for purpose, not pleasure. Food is not a hobby. Food is something your body needs to survive, and in the case of working out and getting results, food is something your body needs so that you can get those results. Food is nothing more than that. So, I give my body only what it needs to make these results happen. Does my body need the 5 seconds it takes for me to chew a piece of chocolate? No. Does my mind need it? NO! My mind is way too strong to need it, and that feels much better than any piece of chocolate would ever taste, and I love knowing that.

Like I said, I eat for purpose, not pleasure. That statement sums up everything that I think about "cheat days" and "food cravings" and "everything is ok if it's eaten in moderation." So don't whine to me about how hard it is for you. Do you think I will feel bad for you? I won't. You are not special. It is exactly as hard for you as it is for me and EVERYONE else. What's the difference? I have what it takes mentally. Ya know what else? You have it too. You just need to learn to use it. And, hopefully… this article has helped bring it out.

DIET IS KING! (Calorie intake is THE BOSS, while nutrition within this caloric intake can be a DECISION MAKER) (my words)

THis may be off topic a bit, and you could be hungry because you are plainly arn't eating enough or are eating enough to lose wgt (and have nothing in place to combat cravings, I dont know). This was meant as a motivational tool and no disrespect to anyone. But you have TO WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH-----------TO EARN IT--Bottom line, and this will never change.

now, im off to do my 45th cardio session for the month of May, I never thought my tendons would hold up, I was wrong, feel better this month, then I have in weeks (energy wise).

I agree with that article to an extent, giving into your food cravings is all abount mental strength, one must be very strong minded to not give into their food cravings. However I believe it's ok to "cheat" every now and then when it's in moderation (only if you can do that). I know plenty of big guys with fantastic bodys who have there cheat meals every now and then and it didn't stop them from reaching their goals. So I think these so called cheat meals are fine as long as they don't make you want them more and you stick to the rest of your diet plan on a strict basis.

Ever since going to the gym i am geting so freaking hungry and i get hungry again like every 2 hours even if i fill my self up heeps. its craaaaaaaazzy

Try to get a lot of fiber in each meal, that will fill you up faster and for longer. If I remember right you are trying to gain weight? Is this not a good thing that you are hungry? :)

Whats your diet like? Caloric content, and nutrional content? If your doing cardio and weight training, this will make you hungry. However, I dont know what your goals are: gaining weight, losing wieght---or the harder and more difficult approach, both. (by losing fat gaining muscle, which is possible, and but something gets compromised).

More info is really needed for the knoweledable persons of the forum to help you, help yourself. Their could be a good reason for your hungry pains.

If your hungry and deficit dieting, get something in place to combat these cravings, and shut this normal bodily reaction down, without hurting yourself in the nutrional sense.

If your "overeating" to gain weight (muscle tissue) while trying to minimize fat gain, maybe your not eating enough. How do you know your getting approximated enough food and nutrional intake? Are you calculating your calories and ratios? Or flying by feel or by the seat of your pants.

The body triggers hunger response for a variety of reasons (biologically in the body), and this does include (and sometimes is separate from) a mental want or desire for food (if you understand what I am saying).

Cheers, just provide some additiona info. Here I go again, windy as always it seems (LOL)

yep getting the fiber in there is a good thing :)

But I have to say when I was in the Army I learned to push my body tot he limit, to not quite, to push that extra mile, to curb those cravings. During basic all junk food, beer, smokes, all of it GONE, only what they gave you in the mess hall. it showed you could go 8 weeks without eating crap, having a beer, I don't smoke but those guys that did were being detoxed.

But it boils down to Mental toughness, everything is a mental battle, to push the craving aside, to push a weight a certain amount of reps, to run that mile. It time it is a small victory, a challenge, beat that challange, instead of hitting that szooze, you get up on time, etc.

Everything boils down to choices, either you win, or you lose......Make the tough call and win.

Everything is a challenge, everything is a game....Do you want to win or lose?

I was in the military too at 22 (hey that rhymed, LOL). Im an old man now (46) But, I give my 18 and 22 year old sons a run for there money. There always coming in pushing their primed testosterone running through their veins, LOL. Not that I care, necessarily, what my 1r max is on certain exercises, but they always want to know. Hell, Im a little, dude (154, 5'7"), and they get amazed at times I can strap 100lbs and do half-up sit ups (I know, lol), for 15 reps maybe more, just stop there. 1r max 305, but its all fun with the youngens at times, and both of them are over 200lbs, lol, 6'4".

I learned that the body can do more than you THINK IT CAN. That is one reason the article I posted was one of my favarites (just the mental portions he was pushing and other comments). Hello Mello! I agree with you, the mental game plays a HUGE role! And, is the KEY that can lock or unlock many pathways.......Now, I have beggers wanting to give me food (LOL), because honestly, I do look thin in cloths (waist is 30" maybe closer to 29), but I carry a little secret....LOL

low hydration levels can also come across as hunger.

the article is interesting,,,,,,depending on your goal. it strikes me that the writer is writing to him or her "other" self. It is a self talk over reaction.....imho

or it may be the author is trying to tell us what we should be going for, center of the universe control freak... i love it!!!

is the website yours Chillen?

of course its not my web sit, LOL. I took it as poking fun at me.

The article is in the eye of the beholder, and many may precieve it differently. But the POINT IS, is to get OVER your weaknesses,,,,,,,,(what ever it may be).
I could careless if he was writing to himself or another. What is important is whether I (or we) can get something positive from it and move forward in our goals. I think this is the main point really. Sometimes not sugar coating things and babying ourselves can be a motivator to appropriately push to our goals. We have to have control, and I believe most that are successful, to a point, are control freaks if ya think about it some.

thanks for the reply!

When i checked out the website (not the article) it seemed a lot like you, and my intent was to compliment you on it, if it was yours.

my apologies if you "could care less" about my thoughts on the article.

It will be my intent, as an effort to escape your wrath, to refrain from commenting on your posts in the future.

Flyingfree, the "careless" portion was not directed to you, BRO. What I meant was it didnt matter WHY he had written it.

I took what you stated in a positive way! It seems I advocate always push, push, push---this is only if its apropriately done (this my undertone) when I say get after it, go forward, dont make fricken execuses, get up, stand up and deliver, etc...

Your all GOOD!

PLEASE give me constructive feed back if you percieve me wrong, this is healthy!!! Stand up for your point of view, whom am I to say differently........ROCK ON!

In my heart and soul, all I want to do is have persons motivate themselves and overcome their personal weakness (and these Vary from person to person). Life can hand us a bunch of SH@t at times, and we have to adapt and overcome (an old miliray term).

I just had two carefully selected oatmeal/raisin cookies (2), and he can shut the hell up, LOL (refering to the article, :D , but this will be in my deficit range)

Oh no, Im gonna die! Im WEAK! Can't handle it! My abs will get covered up again....I think not, LOL. Oh no, Im gonna get an insulin spike and ruin my progress! BAH!
