Snow workout

Wow, I must be a glutton for punishment. Cleveland had about 15 inches of snow dumped on us this past Fri/Sat. I used the snow blower Friday night to clear off the first few inches that had fallen.

Saturday morning, when I went to clear the drive, I thought the snow was light enough that I'd do the drive by hand so I could get a nice workout from the chore. HA, an hour and thirty minutes later, I was completely spent. I came in, had lunch, took a long hot shower and crashed for a good 2 hour nap. I'm still feeling it today. I'm not sore, my muscles just feel like they got a REAL good workout. According to fitday, that hour and thirty minutes of shoveling was worth about 600 calories. I'm telling you, they need to invent a gym machine that simulates shoveling snow, because that was one heck of a workout.

Here's a few pics from the storm.

Ok, first off, I'm extremely jealous of the snow you got up there in OH, and happy you got one heck of a work out out of it. Awesome pictures.

Believe me PC, it is a lot of fun, but it's also a pain in the rear. Had lots of fun with the boys yesterday and today, but getting around town was impossible, parking lots are a mess and people forget how to drive in this stuff.

Thanks on the pics... I just got a new digi and I'm figuring out how to use it. I was pleased with how they came out for taking quick snap shots. I really like the one of my son walking down the street. Just something about it.

Hi!
I"m from Findlay, we got alot to snow too, not as much as you of course...yea, shoveling snow is a b! I'm totally not shoveling infront of the mailbox, lol, we'll have to get our mail at the post office all week, lol

I love the pics!

the m other nature workout.. :) Does a body good...

you do have to be careful - far too many people end up in the emergency room because of heart attacks while shoveling...

Yeah, all of Ohio got smacked. Columbus had something like 20 inches. I hope the old saying is true for March... "In like a lion, out like a lamb".

And yeah, there was an article in yesterday's paper about 3 people in the Cleveland area who died of heart attacks. It's very sad to read those articles, really made me realize that you could go at any time so enjoy the time you have.

LOL, normally I can blame you canucks for the winter storms hitting North East Ohio because of those Alberta Clippers you send our way. But not this one, it came up from the south. I used to live in Alaska, so while this is a lot of snow, I've lived through much worse.
