Sport Small breakfasts bad?

Sport Fitness
Often for breakfast I only have a bowl of cereal and a glass of water. I just don't have much of a natural appetite first thing in the morning and the thought of consuming a lot of food at that time makes me slightly ill. Later on in the day i'm fine...If I compensate for a small breakfast with my other meals throughout the day is that alright? I want to start bulking so know it is important to keep eating throughout the day.

Small breakfast is better than no breakfast.

It takes some effort to learn how to eat a big breakfast. Make sure the cereal has 3g of fiber for every 100calories, and fewer mg of sodium than calories.
example:

200cals, 7g of fiber, 150mg of sodium = OK
200cals, 2.5g fiber, 220mg of sodium = not ok

Add a simple protein shake to your breakfast, a whey/casien blend is ideal. Shakes aren't very filling, but will provide you with more nutrients.

Thanks Malkore,
I didn't know that eating a big breakfast could be learned...I'll add that shake in and see how i go.

Not so much learned as 'adapted to'.

Just wait til you decide you want to bulk up...and you try eating 2 cups of cooked oatmeal, a banana, and 8 egg whites first thing in the morning.

It takes a special kind of dedication to pound down a double serving of old fashioned oats before it turns into cold paste.

aint that true!!!!

what about this 2 cups of whole grain cheerios and a yogurt.

Breakfast is the most important. Try also using Arrowhead Mills Steel Cut Oats is extremely easy to eat than other oatmeals. Plus it has 8g of fiber per 1/4 cup. That has tons more fiber and taste than the regular.

what to do if you hate oatmeal lol

Learn to love it. some splenda, a dash of cinnamon, and a tablespoon of natty peanut butter is my favorite way to make it taste like...something.

If the multigrain cheerios have 3g of fiber per 100calories and less sodium in mg than calories, its ok.

I suspect it's not that fiber rich though, so I'd take multigrain chex over cheerios.

yo if u want to know bout cereals i cut out an article in M&F about all good cereals and bad cereals and you would be surprised at the stats of some cereals i thot was good just post back if you want me to give it to you

I used to be terrible at Bfast.. since I began working out I've been better, at least a granola bar, yogourt, banana on the way to work now.. But more and more I'm getting hungry, I can't keep up! By lunch time I am starving. I need more protein! but time/money makes me eat fast food most of the time. unfortunately

A typical serving of protein powder is less than $1 and has more protein than a fast food sandwich, and significantly less fat.
A tub of cottage cheese is about $2.50 and contains more protein and less fat than a typical fast food sandwich.

Gladware is cheap, reusable, and disposable. Get a little cooler, a blue ice pack, plan in advance and you won't have excuses to eat crap food.
