slight quad strain

I am preparing for a 10 mile race this Saturday and did my last hard workout yesterday - pushed myself moderately, but didn't feel I overdid it. Today I went for an easy 3 miler and at the very end suddenly felt my quad getting tight and begin to ache. I stopped immediatly, stretched it and then drove home. When I got out to walk, I had slight pain in the mid quad area each time I used that leg. I've taken a whey protein product since then (3 hours ago) and am now resting and icing the area. I'm not feeling pain there, but it just seems a little weak feeling. Anyone know what the chances are this will improve by Saturday or am I bound to still have trouble, it being a 10 mile race? Any suggestions:(
 
If I were you, I would go get a session of ART before the race. Pushing yourself that hard on a strained muscle can lead to a more severe sprain or a tear.
