Sleeping

is there any type of over the counter pill you can take for say you cant sleep something with codine in it or anything like that something safe that will help you sleep?

You can try melatonin. can be bought at any local health/GNC store. cheap too. I got mine a few days ago. I notice I feel more relaxed.

Melatonin contains melatonin.

It's a hormone the body produces in the evening hours. That's one hardwirings our bodies have to a night time sleep cycle.

Well, codine is a controlled drug, so no, in the US you cannot get it over the counter.

Melatonin is fine for occasional sleeplessness, but constant/long term use has some crumby side effects.

ZMA is fine for daily use, I tend to use it 90% of the time when I have it in stock.

Yeah, allegedly weird dreams, but I can't distinguish melatonin dreams from nicotine patch dreams. They're all freaky fun!:)

actually they were some rather unfavorable side effects, not just intense dreaming (which is more of an effect of staying in deep REM sleep)
lemmie see if I can find them...
found it!

"Most suggest links to aggravation of depression, potential retinal damage, repression of tumor-growth (a good side effect), possible links to reduced fertility. None have been priven conclusively, but it is something to consider."

a friend sent me that. What I take from it is: you shouldn't NEED melatonin as a sleep aid every day, and if you're taking it that way, it might catch up to you in a bad way.

so, like anything, moderation should prevent any complications.

I heard that you need to take it for a week daily for it to kick in when you start.

not true at all. melatonin already naturally occurs in the body, so when you take a 3mg pill at bedtime, it ramps you right up into sleep mode in about 30 mins. The bottle even has a warning that you shouldn't operate heavy machinery or drive after taking it.

I dont know a huge amount about sleeping so I may be well off the mark here.
I have been talking to Mreik recently about ECA stacks.
Caffeine work by blocking up adenosine receptors (tirednes receptors) in the brain, and benadryl can be used to counter these effects.

Now I'm not sure if the adenosine receptors are effected long or short term, but this may be something that someone more knowledgeable on the subject may be able to explaine better.

On the otherhand I may be talking BS and i apologize.

agreed. Nyquil is not to be used as a sleep aid anymore than Dayquil should be used to give you pep.

I never had issues sleepign when taking massive amounts of ephedra alkaloids as long as my last dose was with lunch. That was back in the heydays of original Ripped Fuel, which had about 2x the ephedrine as a normal ECA recipe.
I would literally shake at times due to being amp'd up and on weekends when I didn't take it, I'd get nasty headaches from the lack of all the stimulants.

the glories of fat burners and supplements eh?
