Sport Sleep?

I'm not really sure if this should go into nutrition but I couldn't think of a better place. I don't get the reccomended 7 - 8 hours of sleep everynight. I'm borderlining 5 - 7, sometimes i'll go wild and get 8. I just don't have the time for it really. School and work really kick my ass. How bad is it if I uhh... just didn't sleep one night?
 
same here, i get to bed around 1/2am cuz thats when i feel tired then back up at 8 am, same again next night, then i go party @ the wkend witch sometimes i never get sleep, im thinkin of gettin sleeping pills or sumthing:|
 
Depends on the context I guess. Plus, sleep deprivation usually comes back to bite me in the ass on the weekend.

I would think about this harder, but it's time I get to bed...lol

Or, you could quite abusing your body by partying every weekend and just sleep like a normal human being.


Try to get at least 7 hours. ZMA is a useful supplement for athletes, and a side effect is better sleep at night. And its cheap (I buy NOW brand for less than $10 a bottle online)

Ahh youth.... You are quite mistaken. Your life will not stop. In fact, the quality parts of your life HOPEFULLY are not just when you are drunk and in a haze.
I am not saying that all partying must stop. I am just saying be rational about it. You don't have to party every weekend, nor should you be trying to party during weekdays.
ZMA is a great supplement for muscle recovery while you sleep. I prefer just simple melatonin or kava kava for sleep problems.
Obviously you will have to figure out which is more important to you.
Either be successful getting to the level of fitness you want OR being successful at taking down some cheap beer from an overly tapped keg.

so, you're saying at 29, I'm not young anymore?

you do realize that a 'hard life' in your youth directly equates to poor health as you get older? especially when it comes ot eating badly, not sleeping enough, drinking and smoking.

I think you need to square away your priorities, and realize that 'having fun' doesn't have to mean '2 hours of sleep on the weekend after binge drinking'.

dude i dont go that hard... i dont smoke never had never will, and drinking is only dun at the weekend 1 night maybe both nights, and im not a real big drinker so im not doing to much damage.

and @ 29 your young.. :) i hope when im 29 im classed as young :D
 
i understand ya keystotheworld. i party similarily altho not as much as last year because i learned that it affected me too much like not enough sleep, sleeping in and missing classes lol. thursday nights here are a big party night now but ive learned that i have to miss it because i work on fridays and im not taking the chance at being late or being hung over. 2 drinks get me drunk lol. but now i go party maybe once every 2 weekends. sleep is so much more worth it in the end. and i havent missed/skipped class once this year! and i have 18 credits so thats not easy.

and yes 29 might not be OLD but im dreading turning 20! i dont think ill admit that im 20 when i am. its a bad age, not 21 yet but still not a teen anymore...sad!
 
so sleeping with someone younger makes 30 better? lol i guess thats good. my boyfriend is pretty much the same age so i cant ever say that lol well actually he just turned 20 in sept and hes a grade older. but still pretty close in age. i have till march till im uhhh still 19 ;)

i wish i was married and had a kid right now but not exactly a good time for it. but when i graduate ill be getting married. cant have a kid till after that tho or my parents would freak lol very catholic.
