Skinny fat looking for help...

Hi, I consider myself skinny fat, I'm 5'2" and weight around 117-120lb. I have belly fat and my whole body feels giggly and fably. I would like to know what can i do to get a firm body and flat stomach? What kind of training do you recommend to do at home as i cant go to the gym? I would like to lose body fat but not lose weight. Also I had my baby 8 months ago and im still breastfeeding, i dont know if that would affect.

Hi Clalejan, well in order to get the firm body you have include cardio in your workouts. Now this is not limited to biking or trendmills. Depending on your fitness level you can try compound exercises such as squats, burpees, pushups, chair dips, jumping jacks and sit ups.

Jumping squats are a great workout, just remember to land lightly on the ground to avoid injury (front of foot, not heels).

It's important to increase your heart rate when performing your workouts. It will help metabolism to increase and burn fat quicker. This means you will have to adjust your resting periods according to your sets.

Example: 3 sets of 10 is a good start. Try to experiment what works best for you (30 seconds and under is pretty intense)

Never train the same muscle groups back to back. If you did leg workouts on monday then wait at least a day to train them again.

Hope this helps!

Blessings,

Jason.

Having a breastfeeding baby in itself will not affect your ability to train at all. Any complications etc. relating to the birth and if this is your first activity in a while will have a huge impact.
If you are just starting out I would agree in the previous post cardio is very key to ensuring health and helping get base level fitness. However if you are not used to activity starting straight in with high impact work could be an issue. Circuit style training is great but if you are carrying predominantly excess and have a light frame taking both feet of the floor and landing repeatedly could cause damage and stop you training.
There are low impact alternatives to virtually every exercise, all you do is keep one foot in contact with the ground at all times, so star jumps become a side leg raise with both arms raised, then the other leg and both arms. doing this does decrease intensity, so if you find yourself able to do the jumps etc without issue and want quicker results ignore me and do higher impact circuits.

There are different forms of circuits and no or short rest 3x10 is a great starting point, moving from one to the next quickly. Make sure what ever you set up is even and works your whole body. The biggest issue for many wanting to tighten up is they target current weakspots and create new ones by doing so.

Most important part, enjoy it. If that means having your favourite tunes on and singing along do it, if anyone else is there taking the mick sing badly, they'll soon leave.

Thanks for a the anwers! I would also like to know if i can do both cardio and strenght training the same day? Or do i have to alternate one day cardio the other strenght? For the cardio i like to go out for walks with the baby stroller, and for strenght training i do crunches, situps, plank and squats.

Well if you can't do both in one day, I should be dead and decomposed. This is not intended sarcastic, I just appear that way most of the time.
cardio can be daily, it relies on your aerobic system which literally lasts your whole life.
Strength training needs rest time for recovery and possibly growth.
Yes you can do both on the same day. This can be quite amusing too, especially when going for a run after a heavy leg session. You know your legs are there and moving but aren't totally sure they are doing as you want them to.

I agree completely, also if you do the crunches, situps, planks and squats and you still your muscles are tired the next day, then its best recover those muscles first. Cardio can be an everyday workout, whereas strength training depending on the intensity can be every other day.

Be creative and have fun! Good luck ;)

Blessings,

Jason
