Sport Six packs and eating

Sport Fitness
This relatates to my 'six pack' thread. For me to get my six pack it looks like i'm going to have to lose a small amount of fat on my stomach. What eating plan should i have to do this? I don't eat unhealthily, i very rarly have fast food i eat my fruit and veg everyday but i admit i do have the occasional biscuit and cake.

If you were in the same circumstances as me what eating plans did you have that got rid of that thin layer of fat on your stomach? (obviously still doing a workout)

I'm in the same position as you, but I am getting there. Try cutting out the occasional biscuit and cake alltogether. Cardio exercise combined with abs exercises works for me. Tip* ab-Crunches do work when combined with the right exercise.

Don't cut carbs unless you have to. Work down the calories first. Take you time, do good training, eat a balanced diet. From there THEN decrease carbs if needed. If looking for an actual plan to follow...

Thanks for that link...helpful :)

It might be the country but guys from my age all seem to have a 6pack (there is the occasional chubby of course, but in general). Hell, judging from the beach, the locker rooms at school/fitness and sometimes even in the shopping centre it wouldn't be weird to assume the pope has a 6pack too.

I eat plenty of cakes, chocolate, fast food once a week (McDonalds, and I take a lot more than a burger and some fries) and I don't do sports. I've been doing fitness for the last few months but before this I already had a 6pack. Is it just genes? A lot of my (male) friends have the same thing.

Old diet systems ensure that you stay hungry by forcing you to eat a daily calorie count that's lower than Jessica Simpson's SAT scores. I don't want you hungry -- I want you full. When you're full, you won't be as tempted (or likely) to steamroll your way through pizza boxes.

And the way you'll get full is by eating six times a day, choosing from the nutritional heroes you'll meet below. By eating every few hours, you'll keep your metabolism revved and ensure overall stomach satisfaction. The great thing about the Abs Diet powerfoods is that, because they're high in nutrients, protein, healthy fats, and fiber, they make it almost impossible to overeat. Proper nutrition will leave you feeling satiated all day long.

How to do it: Eat three standard meals and three smaller snacks. For example:

8 a.m. BREAKFAST

11 a.m. SNACK

1 p.m. LUNCH

4 p.m. SNACK

6 p.m. DINNER

9 p.m. SNACK

There's a fair bit more to it than this above. Losing fat to a point by which muscle is prominent is not easy and there is not one answer eating plan or gym routine.

This forum contains a wealth of information, whether it be fact, science or annecdote, so read around and make use of it. Ignore the one-off-wonders, you wont know if you are one of this until you understand the general approaches.

Personally, the only effective way i have is eat 100% right for me, train with heavier weights less and use plenty of mixed cardio. I reduce carbs and time them around my training, but keep fats high. Ive got a rack of supplements, none of which i can prove definitely help - but three years of doing this have led me to believe them to be effective. My two key tips are eat enough and get the valuable nutrients in, and accept that genetics plays a huge part in this.

I feel a Chillen post brewing........
