Six Pack Advice, 14.

Hey guys Im new here. Im 14 years old and am 5'5 and weigh 46KG, (dont know pounds), and am wanting a six pack. I have been doing squad training 1 1/2 hours three times a week so Im skinny but have a layer of fat over my abs. I have been following these three workouts off youtube, 2, 3, and also been doing a few other bicep curls etc It takes about half to three quaters of an hour. Im now eating 5 small meals a day and trying to drink alot of water. Ive been doing this for a week and can already see the outline of a sixpack, but I know theres still a layer of fat over of it. So what Im trying to say is will swimming 3 times a week and doing those exercises work or am I wasting my time. Any advice or exercise to help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Any advice . . .Anyone?

im no expert to this stuff but im pretty sure that you're suppost to be working all your muscles not just abs and biceps. so maybe you should try doing a full body workout 3x a week? but i could be wrong haha.
As for the flab on your abs eating healthy food and doing cardio a few times a week should get rid of it, so yeah swimming will help you out, but i find HIIT to be far more effective and time effecient for losing fat.
Good luck with your 6 pack :)

Push ups and all of it's variations are amazing for your abs. I actually have some ab workout videos on youtube if you're interested. Michael, who replied above, is right though you do need to work your entire body if you want a 6 pack. Many people don't realize this, but your low abs and inner thighs work together. Also, if you're going to work your abs and get good results you have to also work your back. Strengthening your abs will definitely help, but you have to make sure you're still getting full body cardio burning workouts.

I agree with the above comments that you should be doing a full body workout 3x per week. Here is a thread from the Young Athlete Development section that might help:

Stick with consistent physical activity and don't go too overboard on the calories (you still need an adequate amount because you are going to be growing for a few more years, most likely). As long as you stick with it for a while and don't give up, then you should see results eventually!

Wow this is simple but very useful advice... Workouts like the one you mentioned here will be very useful to me! I am very happy to read all this advice.. ! Thanks for giving us nice info. Fantastic walk-through!
