My sister ( 29 years / 4'11" / 149 pounds) has been dieting for a few weeks, she's not seeing any weight loss really but does seem to be losing some inch's.

What sort of aerobic activity would anyone suggest for her to get that scale moving down? Can her thyroid problem cause her trouble in losing weight? She has always been very tiny, in the 95 to 100 pound range. Right now we are both on the same diet of food and exercise ( although I have been at this for 8 months) and I am having far better results than her. She's counting her calories, doing treadmill and strength training with core secrets. Any suggestions for her?

Hey, Core Secrets is good...

My reccomendation, give it awhile. When I first started working out in earnest, espcially my core and weight training I gained weight and certainly did not go down even though my measurements did. Muscle weighs more than fat, plain and simple. If she is just starting out and already losing inches she is doing awesome. The scale is a terrible way to judge success. if she feels good and the clothes are getting looser, she is winning, bottom line. The scale will start showing the loss once the muscle evens out. I can be a discouraging at first, but in fact it is a great thing! Tell her to keep her chin up and keep working hard. Losing inches is better than losing pounds on a scale any day of the week, though that will come too.
