Should I try spring track?

I'm 15, and spring track is coming around soon. I've always thought about being a sprinter, but I don't know what is considered a good time. I weigh 110 lbs, and I run 50 yards on the football field in 6.2 seconds, which means my 40m spring in track would be 5 seconds flat, but that was a year ago, and I havn't tried it since. Should I go for it, and is that fast?
 
Yes Definitely!

It's not a bad time but that doesn't matter. If you have a good coach, what you will learn about running mechanics and explosive speed is invaluable. Track will make you stronger and faster for football as well.
