should i run with a cough?

Got a cross country race tomorrow and have had a cold the last week. it's on it's way out and energy levels are up but I've still got a tickly cough. Do you think the exercise will make it worse, prolong recovery or help blow out the cobwebs?

might help to wear a couple of layers to keep the cold of your chest at least for the first half of the run while your still warming up

from experience; it helped me clear the cough out :) i sounded like a train though, but whne i was done i felt better. i woudlnt suggest a race though

did you finnally do the race or bail out? :p

if its just a common cold you are ok,if you have fever symptoms i wouldnt train and definatly not race, your heart will be under stress from the fever doing cardio type work will put more pressure on it.

Personally I wouldnt. But I've not had a cold for about 4years. Have a hot bath and chill out and start running when the worst of it is behind you. Dint keep running while its still getting worse.
