Should I quit the Air Force ROTC if its interfering with my work out?

Ok so I'm trying to impress this popular girl from high school I havent seen in 2 years. But I figure shes probaly gonna be homw winter break. I spend 1.5 hours weightlifing and 2 hours running every day. Its working good. My biceps r big, ive lost a lotta weight and Im on the verge of a 6-pack. i figure if i keep it up till December shes mine.. shes gonna lust for me.

So I joined the air force rotc in fall. Figured it discipline me get me in shape cool stuff with a rifle. But its a lotta work and stress and only one workout a week. And i get let anything get in the way of the work out. I dont even go to class any more. My dad said how can u leave at atime like this when the military cant get people? But hey nothing can take my mind off working out!

Eyes on the prize baby!

LLAB and PT only 2 times a week. But I need 5 hours bodybuilding with breaks and all. Plus when Im not bodybuilding I need to think bout it.

You joined ROTC for a reason. If that reason is superceeded by other prorities, then it makes sense to quit. It's a personal decision that we can't make for you. But it sounds to me like you don't have what it takes to put in the 4 years of service afterwards. Not that it's particularly a bad thing, just something to consider. Stick with it, and it sounds like you're going to hate your life for however many years. Quit, and chase whatever it is that comes along and tickles your fancy.

ROFL
I saw this exact same guy ask the same exact question On Yahoo Answers
What a coincidence..

Seriously, if you are so weak willed that you quit so easily I don't want people like you anywhere in the armed forces

If your basis for working out is to impress another girl, I think you need to reanalyze your priorities. If the girl only wants you based on what your physique looks like, then she's pretty shallow and will chase any guy around based on what they look like. This means you'll just be a fling before another guy with a 6 pack comes along.

You'll find later in life that unless you spend your life on the beach the other sex doesn't approach you based on your 6 pack because they don't see it until the time of a relationship has been put in.

Missing one workout a week is going to make or break your physique changes-nutritional considerations are what does this.

But like I said...if she's going to lust after you because of your abdominals, then she's lusting after a lot of guys...you're just a notch among the rest.

I'm still trying to figure out why you're trying to impress a girl you haven't seen in 2 years. Obsessed comes to mind here.

EVO=THE MAN.

Nuff said.....

Please mate. Please, please please, listen to me.

If you are still after a 'popular girl' from highschool after TWO years, then obviously there is an issue with your ability to pull, otherwise you would have moved on. She will not go for you if you are like that. Move on. For your own good.

I very much doubt that.

yeah, but surely if he can't get over one girl from 2 years back he hasn't been getting any from elsewhere.

This is JROTC, not ROTC. You are not "training" for a commissioned officer position. I agree with EVO; don't quit JROTC because you are trying to impress a chick with your abs - that is lame. But, quitting JROTC won't hurt the national security of the US military either.

If you were my kid, and I have two boys in high school, I would want you to tough it out and not quit. But, that is just my own personal opinion and doesn't mean jack. Make an informed decision with your parents' input.

If you truly don't like it then get out. This is training for your future, no sense in continuing if it isn't what you want.

If you're just quitting to impress a girl (or to impress anyone for that matter) that, on the other hand is a goofy reason.

Look at it this way, if you become an officer, there's less chance of dying in battle in our next war in Iran...of course if you become a pilot you could get shot down...oh well no plan is perfect
