Should i move from Protein to Creatine

Hi, i have been working out for the last 4 years 4-5 days a week. I am very happy with my physical shape however i would like to gain a small bit more muscle mass. I push myself very hard in the gym and constantly change and mix up my work outs.

I take 2 protein shakes a day and now i am thinking of taking creatine... I have done days of research on creatine so any help would be greatly appreciated.

My only worry is that if i take creatine it will make you fat in years to come... here me out on this first please... :)

I know people are going to say it will only make you fat if you stop working out but consider these scenarios...

A - i decide not to take creatine and in 10 years time i don't work out as much as i do now... how fat will i be

B - i start taking creatine and in 10 years time i don't work out as much as i do now... how fat will i be

So, which of the scenarios will end up making me fatter when i am older...

Any other negative points that i should consider before taking creatine... thanks in advance for your help...

Please read the creatine sticky. Not to be rude, but it seems like you don't understand at all what creatine does.

To put it very simply: creatine and calcium work inside muscle fibers to allow muscles to contract rapidly. If either becomes deficient, your ability to forcefully contract becomes greatly diminished. Fatigued.

So creatine simply helps you perform additional reps per set, which COULD lead to increased strength/mass gains IF you train right, eat right and recover right.

Creatine has nothing to do with gaining fat. Muscle doesn't 'turn into' fat either. Perhaps you are confusing it with the water retention that some people experience as a side effect while on creatine. Water doesn't turn into fat either, and its no different than the water retention you'd experience after consuming a lot of sodium.
You stop the creatine, you shed the water.

Pro tip: water loss due to restricting sodium intake is the main reason so many average Americans lose 5 pounds during the first week of their diet...90% of it is water shedding since the body no longer has to dilute all that sodium!

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated... i will read the sticky now

Now i need to find the best make creatine product as a lot of the reviews i read seem to have mixed reviews, any suggestions greatly appreciated... thanks again

Just regular creatine monohydrate. You seems really confused by different marketing/myths about supplements. I would read around here at most of the stickies, it'll help you get the most of your time and dedication.

per the sticky: 100% pure, creaPure processed creatine monohydrate. Optimum Nutrition and AtLargeNutrition.com both sell these. should run no more than $20 per 500grams (which is about 100 daily servings, a 3 month supply)
