Sport should i incorporate Green Tea in my diet?

Sport Fitness
Green Tea is suppose to have some antioxident value (so they say).

Other than this what is "your reason" for wanting it in your diet?

Please.....do not say to increase metabolism or attempt to burn more fat: My mind will explode. :)

I only used diet, cardio, and weight training to reach my goals.

I do not need anything else.

Neither do you.

Best wishes.

I heard that green tea increases metabolism. So Chillen, is it true that If i drink nothing but green tea all day I'll end up ripped!??!?!?

:D

i've heard the metabolism and burning fat stories, but the reason i ask is because im eating healthier, not exactly to lose weight, but for general health.

Think about properly constructing a good diet.

With these included:

1. Fish Oil

2. Flax Oil

3. Whey protein powder

4. And a good vitamin with minerals.

I would think about properly constructing these first.

Best wishes

One good thing about green tea is that when you make a brew, your not drinking coffee or normal tea, so reduce you caffeine intake.

Yes. At worst, green tea is probably entirely harmless (depending on various things - hydration levels/salt intake, caffeine sensitivities, possible allergies, etc). At best it's a magic potion the powers of which will baffle your mind and pleasure your soul.

Something I came across on T-nation...

Green tea was the most ìpresented onî herb of the bunch. One study showed that only 90 mg of EGCG combined with 100 mg of caffeine lead to a 24% increase in resting energy expenditure (don't get too excited, as this wasn't 24% over 24 hours). A study from Harvard also showed that green tea can reduce inflammation at the RNA level by altering cytokine expression. Seriously, if you aren't drinking green tea every day, you're just crazy.

Wonder what it was without the caffeine.

I used to be a pop addict. I thought I could never stand tea. But after getting used to green tea and all but completely given up pop, my weight starting coming down with no other change in my diet. I love caffeine, and I drank pop for the caffeine. Now I drink green tea for the caffeine. I think it's safe to say that green tea and its cousin, white tea, are the two healthiest sources of caffeine.

I still don't like plain green tea, even though I can stand drinking it. I usually put in either lemon juice or a tiny amount of grapefruit juice. Green tea can also be good with honey, which is one of the healthiest sweeteners around.

i'd say if you like green tea then go for it. i personally like green tea and oolong tea. i drink probably 1-2 cups per day. and green tea is supposed to have antioxidants, which is a good thing.
