i'm 17, 5'4, 140 lbs.
okkayy so i'm deciding on whether or not i should have a grilled chicken and spinach lean pocket, which is 260 calories.

so far i've had: raisin date and almond instant oatmeal -160 calories.
1 piece of double fiber 100% whole wheat bread - 50
tuna - 70 calories
two pieces of that bread - 100
mustard -10

then i got home at five, and kinda pigged out just a little. i had one more piece of bread, 50 cals. then something else, which was about 170 calories.

should i eat that lean pocket?

i was in band camp all day, from 9-5

ARE YOU JOKING?

At your hight, weight and age, you should be eating at LEAST in the 1,200 calorie range. You're starving your body right now only eating 400 calories... you will do serious damage to yourself if you do not gradually increase your calorie intake to a healthy level.

Your BMR is 1,500- meaning if you STAYED IN BED ALL DAY, you could it 1,500 calories and maintain the exact same weight (theoretically). You want to create a 300-500 calorie deficit at most.

Yes, eat the damn lean pocket... eat two or three...

go ahead and eat it. If losing weight makes you so miserable then you will end up quitting and not trying anymore. I'm not saying pigout every day but it's ok to eat a few extra caleries. Just go for a good walk for about 20 min that will make you feel better about eating it.

PLEASE ..listen to this person...they are VERY right..
I am the same age and height as you...
I made the stupid mistake of depriving myself for 6 months..
I do weigh 111 right now, BUT it's only that becuase I have noooo muscle.
I would eat 700-900 calories a day.. My body now is crazy. If i go over 1200 calories I gain weight easier than I EVER have..My metabolism is all messed up. When I have a day that I decide to "splurge" and go out to eat..and eat healthy the rest of the day..I gain 2-4 pounds- even from weighing myself the next morning from that day.
My best advice is PLEASE EAT NORMAL AMOUNTS..AND TRY TO EXERCISE..
I already have ruined my body and yoyo all the time. My problem was always exercise..and when I did start exercising more I GAINED weight..so dont be alarmed at that...My jeans fit MUCH better when exercising and my weight when from 104 (unhealthy for our age and height) up to 116 (healthy, and felt MUCH better.) Also I think exercising keeps our body in balance..and actually made me eat MORE but I looked and felt BETTER not scrawny and weak. ..
PLEASE..PLEASE DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!!
I promise you will regret it!!!!

*The reason I dont get normal exercise now mostly is I babysit for my mom and when she gets home usually I have to still take care of my sister because my mom works rediculous hours..* I know its an "excuse" but my family comes before me..

*Another thing too..I say if you dont loose weight at 1500 cals THE LOWEST TO GO is 1200 and STAY AT THAT. No Less*

You should eat something. A lot of somethings, preferably in your caloric intake range. What you're describing here is the diet of an anorexic. Anorexia has the highest premature fatality rate of any mental illness.

Don't starve yourself. You don't have to starve to lose weight, as hundreds of people on this site have attested to.

Self-destruction is pointless and will not help you achieve the goals you want for yourself.
