I eat 1500 calories a day and work out 5 days a week... I allow myself one splurge day a week. I allow myself to eat whatever I want for one meal.

Tonight we got home late and I picked up cheese pizza for dinner. I had a two slices (400 calories) along with a spinach salad. I'm still below my calorie limit after eating the pizza. All week I've been looking forward to hitting Fudruckers for a good hamburger, but now I'm thinking I should wait till next weekend since I had pizza.

Would you consider the pizza a splurge even though I didn't go over my calorie limit? Would you still treat yourself to a burger? I'm just curious what others would do.

Thanks!!

Eat the pizza in good conscience it was under your calories, and hit the burger shop as a treat!! this is what i would do:D

In my opinion you should never treat good eating with a treat of some sort of food. Instead buy yourself some clothes or something. It helps to create better eating habits. Only allow yourself 1 unhealthy treat whenever you allocate it, don't ever go over this.

I wouldn't say it was a 'splurge'. However I'm sure those couple slices were more than 400 calories. Probably closer to 600. But as long as its within your calorie limits, then its fine.

I ordered the sicilian lasagna pizza last nite and ate the whole thing, lol. About 3000 calories. Now that was a splurge.

Thanks, everyone... I found the nutritional info on the company's website and they listed a slice of cheese at 200 calories. They aren't very big slices.

I had my burger tonight and it was yummy... I even had a brownie for dessert!! :D

I would count it as a splurge if you don't eat pizza often. You can probably get away with the burger. I try to splurge within my maintenance calorie level, but I want to lose weight faster so I try not to eat 3000 calories as my splurge. Even though it might be harmless if it's just one day eating 3000 calories, I think it will slow my weightloss down a bit. That one day eating 3000 calories would cost me two more days of dieting, but if you think it's worth it and it makes you really happy, do it. Do what you think is right for you.
