Should I Bulk up more? [pics]

I asked a friend and he said I should bulk up more..I disagree because I think I have enough weight as is. So i wanted more opinions and advice and do some more research.

Here is what I'm currently at:

6'2"
~230 lb
squat: 185 5x5
bench: 115 5x5
deadlift: 185 5x3

I'm aiming to look very similar to this dude:

so any suggestions? How do i go about this? :car:

If I were you, i'd probably bulk up first and put on some more muscle before cutting.

Some people might say do it the other way around. Cutting will probably make you look better quicker, which may help your motivation, but i'd say add some muscle.

From the pics it doesn't look like you have loads of muscle across your chest, so if you cut it may look small

oh wow, i didn't really understand what "bulking up" meant at the time of creating this thread. ROFL.

ok now i agree, I should bulk up more first. :animal3:

Sometimes bulking can make you look leaner than if you just cut.

Plus not much point cutting if there isn't any muscle to reveal. So do a bulk first.

You may put on some more fat whilst bulking, it's inevitable really for most people, but stay strong with it.

You're gunna have to do a lot of eating by the way! (clean foods)

You need to start using heavier weights, especially on your bench. You should also start doing shoulder work and more work on your lats. Need to widen the top of the V and shrink the bottom of it a bit.

To the OP, when you are benching, how much do you have left in you on your last rep of your last set? Are you hitting 5 easily, or are you close to failure at the moment with that 115?

You should probably also adjust your training slightly if you are just mainly doing 5x5 every single workout.

Could be worth adding in a day a week where you do an 8 or a 12 rep workout, just to mix it up a bit. Like say 3x8 or something, keep the body guessing.

Always working until near failure on the last rep of your last set, so just pick a slightly lighter weight on your 8 rep day or something.

At 6'2 and 230lbs I would expect you can do more than 115 at 5x5 on your bench. I don't do 5x5 in my workouts but I think I could do that and i'm 5'6 and 152lbs and not really the strongest person out their either (obviously haha)
