Should I be taking vitamins?

When I bought my usual whey protein the other day the salesman was trying to get me to buy some kind of multivitamin he said was very important. Right now I just take whey, should I be taking anything else?
 
because of the demands we place on our bodies, it's a good idea to take a daily multivitamin to ensure you're getting enough of everything.
It doesn't have to be amazing, but it shouldn't contain preservatives or fillers, or have a thick outer coating.
 
as far as supplements, a multi-vitamin/mineral, fish oil, maybe some protein powder if needed and maybe extra vitamin c is about as basic as one can get.

i'll also add in glucosamine if needed also. of course in addition to a solid consistent meal plan which is more important than all this. :)
