Sport should i be in a calorie surplus?

If you're trying to lose fat(cut), eat at a deficit.

If you're trying to build muscle(bulk), eat at a surplus.

You may need to eat at a surplus first and build muscle, and then once satisfied with your build you can eat at a deficit to cut the extra fat. It all depends on your goals.
 
Tone = keeping the lean muscle you have and losing fat so your best bet would be to enter into a deficit.
 
ok sorry i didn't know exactly what tone meant. i want to build some muscle and trim some fat, but im not looking to be like arnold or anything...so yeah i guess just more visible muscle.
