Shopping in the city is very fun!

So, to treat myself for my birthday (and because I desperately needed some winter clothes), I went to San Francisco by myself for the first time to go shopping. It was kind of scary, but also exciting, to be in such a big city with so many people by myself, but I liked the anonymity of being in such a huge place where nobody cares who you are. I bought some cool stuff and spent a lot of time admiring the sights and sounds of the city. I was amazed by the vast number of people spending huge amounts of money on designer fashion stuff. I went into Bloomingdale's to use the restroom and I passed by a coat priced at about $ 1,900. I'm surprised there are so many people that can actually afford to shop there. I kept myself confined to cheaper stores yet I still managed to spend a lot. My biggest purchase was a beautiful black, wool trench coat priced at about $100. The next biggest were the real Levi's jeans from the Levi's store for about $58.

This is only something that I allow myself to do a couple of times a year. I'm a very good saver, but I thought I deserved this especially after all of my hard work to gain this weight. I'm now officially a full size 2 in jeans! I wouldn't have been able to say that a year ago. Zero is a sad size for me. The number 0 makes it seem as though I don't exist or something. Now I am a quantifiable size! Yay! I'm also filling out tops and I have a more female looking upper body since I gained a full cup size. Yay for the bench press!

So I basically just wanted to inform everyone of what a great time I had shopping in the big city. Now I have to work on art homework.

lol @ zero makes you feel like you don't exist.

Glad you had fun.

Oh cool. SF is my favorite place in the world to shop! I just love the feeling of walking around downtown. The city has a great vibe and great stores all located in one convenient place!

Congrats on the size 2 and all your new birthday goodies!

Since I hear San francisco is supposed to the Gay capital, did you see any gays walking around and making out in public?

I'm from SF and honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a gay couple making out in the middle of downtown. But, you do see many couples holding hands and sometimes a kiss here and there.

Why do you ask? Just curious?

No I really don't see many gay people making out in public in SF just like I don't see many straight people making out in public there either. It's interesting to hear that you say it's the gay capital, I didn't know many people had that conception about SF.

And yes, it's a very fun place to shop it's much better than the mall in my community. Everything is so much bigger and more exciting. Oh and at Abercrombie and Fitch (no I don't shop there) they have live male models standing outside of the store. They're pretty hot. That's something you don't see in my neighborhood mall.

Just curious, heard that there a crapload of gay people down there.

LMAO, that reminds me so much of a South Park episode where Cartman says that Africa is a bad place because 'my mum says there are lots of black people in Africa'

And Spicy, SF has that reputation globally, not just in the US. I have a gay friend who flies over at least once a year, it's like his Mecca and he makes the pilgrimage with a group of friends very regularly

If I had to make a pilgrimage to anywhere in the US it'd have to be the deep south because of all the cool dips, sauces and relishes that come from down there :)

I went shopping and bought some jeans from TJ Maxx for $15. Big spendin' this weekend...
