Shopping For a Workout Bench

I'm starting to look at workout benches to try to find one that will fit my needs. I prefer to work out at home as opposed to the gym which is why I'm shopping for one. I won't be doing any serious weight lifting aside from normal strength exercises. The problem is that my budget won't allow me to get a top of the dollar bench. I'm trying to stay within a $50 - $150 tops range. Oh, and yes I know this may end up being a "you get what you pay for" type of scenario, but as I said this is just to add something extra to my workout.

Would any of you mind taking a look at these and let me know what you think? Would you choose one of the others and why?

I have a Bowflex PR1000, so I've never used any of those. You might want to keep in mind:

I like the Bowflex--no need to buy additional weights, it folds up, it has a multitude of workouts and resistance combinations. You can find one for new $469.47 online with shipping. If that's too steep, you can even check your local Craigslist or FB for-sale pages for a used one, I've seen them around every now and then.

The golds gym one you posted looks to be a good sturdy bench, I have used this brand before and it is usually well made, the fixed uprights are ok but you wont be able to use as a squat rack and it has no safety bars/hooks. Basically a good bench if your bodyweight and weights lifted total under 250 lb

The CAP Barbell Deluxe Standard Bench with 100 lb Weight Set would only be ok if keeping to the included weights, no weight capacity is specified so the combination of bodyweight + weights may be to much for the construction.

The Body Flex Weight Bench looks to be very similar to the golds gym bench.

The CAP Strength Olympic Bench would be my selection because it can take standard and olympic sized bars, it has a higher weight capacity which is better for heavier people lifting heavier weights. The uprights are detachable so you getting a squat rack in addition to a bench. The most important feature is the safety hooks, when bench pressing without a spotter these prevent the bar from crushing your chest, neck or head if you suddenly fail to lift the weight

I will advise you to join a gym if you have one close to you. Because for $10 a month, you will have no gear of getting stuck with equipment. I always prefer going to the gym instead of buying equipment because it is harder to get rid off.

It depends on your goals. For my boyfriend, he can do a full gym workout with a bench that has incline, decline and flat with a pair of adjustable dumbbells. A bench with a barbell setup isn't required.

You can choose TRX, it is best for you to build muscle!
