Shoe insoles

Hello! I am brand new to this forum and just started my weight loss journey and lifestyle change about 22 days ago. I started off at 377lbs and I'm down to 363lbs! I'm very proud of myself for sticking to this finally! My question though is, my wife and I go walking/running 1-3 miles a day. After the first mile though my feet are extremely sorry, I'm not fatigued or out of breath I can keep going but I stop because my feet are in so much pain. I want to see what other people have found helped them. Some kind of shoe insole that really absorbs the pressure or some technique I'm unaware of. I appreciate any and all advice!

Welcome to the forum James.

Well done for your weight loss so far.

My husband sounds a bit like you... His max weight was 409 and he is much more active and currently fairly steadily around 330 now.

My husband tells me that the trainers with a bubble in the heel help to absorb the shock - but he does find that it becomes less effective after a little while (we assume that the bubble somehow bursts) and he buys a new pair and says it is better.

We dance a lot and he recently managed to get some dance shoes with a bubble in the heel and they are helping him on the dance-floor too...

I know that my husband has also had special innersoles made for him by a chiropodist that were created based on the way his legs are (he has an extra issue with joint damage after decades of getting occasional gout attacks so on those occasions he was walking awkwardly) - and it might be a good idea for you to visit a chiropodist to see if they could help you specifically.
