Shin Splints!!!

I recently started running/jogging and its been a few weeks now but im not able to increase my speed or distance due to the unbearable pain that i get in my shins after 1 or 1.5 km. I started jogging to lose weight and to increase my stamina. Im not able to jog though, I just walk at a fast speed for 1-1.5 km where the shin splints kick in.. After that i still try to walk through the pain for another 1 km. So far i've been walking for 2.5km in 20 minutes. I usually do this every alternate day before my workout at the gym.

Please advice? How can i get rid of the pain in my shins so that i can start running properly and increase my speed/distance ?

Shin splints suuuuck. >.< There are a few ways of treating them though. Nothing will make them heal permanently, but you can do things to prevent the pain from coming back.

1) Physiotherapy is a very good idea. There are some exercises that you can learn that will benefit a lot.

2) Orthotics or Specialty Shoes: Shin splints are often caused by a problem in your foot arch or by the way you walk. (Usually pronation.) The downside is that these can cost a LOT. However, if you have the money or insurance, they can be an almost immediate fix.

3) Avoid pavement when you run. Shin splints are aggravated by stress when you hit your heel to the ground, and pavement is the worst terrain for that. Stick to trails, if you can.

Another idea is rest. I used to get chronic shin splints when I first ever started running (in my life). After long rests between runs my shins got stronger and were able to heal between runs.

As you are running on the beach with bear foot so i do not find any reason that it would be the cause of your pain. If you run on the road with bear foot then it could be the reason.
There is nothing to worry about that. You are just running for two weeks and you are feeling pain. It's very normal to me. Just keep couple of things in mind.

Do you drink enough water before running? First of all drink lots of water before running. It would provide enough oxygen in your blood and you would not feel tired easily.

Free hand exercise is also important before running. It would lose your muscle easily so that you would feel pain.

And last thing regarding your stamina. If you really want to increase your stamina then all you want to maintain a simple rule. I notice that lots of people take breath by mouth while running. This is utterly wrong. Those take breath by mouth because they feel tired soon and it's become visible when they cannot breathe enough by their nose. Don't do that. Try to take breath by nose as much as possible. It would increase your stamina.

Keep up your great works and follow those advices.
