'Sharp' potbelly

I have seriously tried to get rid of my potbelly, and I am almost giving up at this stage!! I have managed to get rid of most of the excess fat on my body over the years. Right now, am trying to tone up a little bit (female). I must say, after loosing the pounds, I am now fairly thin, but my potbelly sticks out like a sharp needle :mad: . It's seriously frustrating at this point. I avoid eating fatty foods (especially junk food). I go to the gym for cardio (both SS and HIIT) on the treadmill, 4 times a week. I also do 100 crunches 3 times a week. I use the abroller (50 pulls), three times a week. I have noticably lost fat over the rest of my body (actually, I'd say its all just to my target), but I could swear that as I slim away, my potbelly is still the same size over the years, and especially my lower abs!!! I dont know what am doing wrong! I do the cardio to 'get rid of the fat layer over my abs', but surprisingly enough, all I have now, is well shaped thighs, and the belly, still same size!!! My 'love handles' literally melt away, leaving the round belly all lonely :D . Please help. Anyone experienced this? What am I doing wrong???

I know your pain! I feel the same way.
 
from what i understand its usually the last to go, there is no way to really spot reduce... just keep doing the right thing and dont get discouraged, keep close track of your calories make sure theres a defecit, keep training.
 
Thanks RJAZ and Kaitie. I try not to be discouraged. Let me give it another try, though its abit tough at this stage, I must say.
 
I know exactly how you feel... I already reached my goal weight and I'm thinking there's probably 20 more pounds of potbelly fat there! Back to the treadmill I go... :(
