Hey guys just wrote this up as this is something I found to be super helpful and I know not everyone is doing it.
If you are not setting goals and tracking your progress you will never know if your improving or just at a stand still with your workouts or anything else in life.
If you are always progressing your workouts then you are one step closer to achieving your goals but if you do not track all your workouts the reps done and the weight lifted how can you possible know if your actually getting stronger?
I find that this step is the most important when I'm trying to accomplish any goal as it keeps me super motivated and if something is not working you can clearly see whats wrong.
Perhaps you have been stuck bench pressing 200lbs for 5 reps and can never push out another rep, if you know you are pushing for that rep as hard as possible then there must be something else wrong, most likely your diet or your not resting enough and then you can fix it up, if you weren't tracking your progress however you would never come to this conclusion and probably make barely any progress.
So as long as your tracking your progress then you will never stall in your workouts because once you find the problem its easy to fix.
When I used to work out on and off for weeks at a time it mainly came down to not tracking my results, because your body doesn't change that quickly in a short period of time, so I was never motivated but since tracking all my workouts I am always motivated because I have the weight and reps I need to beat in this workout to become stronger, and if your becoming stronger or you have more endurance or whatever your goal is then you know your going to achieve it eventually.
