Has anybody else noticed that there seems to not actually be 15 servings (or however many the label specifies) in a box of cereal or is it just me?

I measure out my cereal each time and I eat about a serving a day but it only lasts me a week.

I'm worried that I might not be accurately measuring, but I really think I am.

Are cereal labels telling the truth?

measure in grams/ounces rather than by cups and it's accurate -

It says it onthe box in fine print -it's sold by weight -not volume -so the volume that you'd get in a cup - isn't quite what you'd get in ounces...

for the most part - the package says it's sold by volume not weight and some settling may occur... so if you weighed the box - you'd get exactly what the package says you're getting - but as for portions you will probably get fewer..

same thing why potato chips - 14 chips aren't always a serving.. sometimes it's 8 chips sometimes it's 16 that equal the weight of one portion - the cup sizes are really just approximations
