Sport serloin..

Sport Fitness
I have been on my own for a only a little over a year and don't have a lot of knowledge and experience buying meat.

So I bought a 2 pound package of serloin at the grocery store for 4 dollars...

I was skeptical of what was with the price.. it was so cheap and not even on sale.

So I cut it up and realized that it was very stringy and full of tendon's etc.

What are the benefits/consequences for eating that kind of thing? I tried to cut all the fatty portions off as best as I could.

sirloin, its a decent leaner cut, normally its not that bad...sounds like you got a poor grade.

I buy a lot of top round, bottom round, eye of round, and flank steak. those are all cheap, and flank is good for slicing into strips for stir-fry, fajitas, etc.

another option is to buy steak and have the butcher grind it for you. ground beef is not ground steak....its ground left overs and is why its somewhat 'fatty'.
ground steak is much leaner and tastes great as a burger, or crumbled in other dishes.

I'll have to try to experiment with some of those options.

But about the serloin again... is there anything wrong with eating all those tendons and things besides just the taste and texture?

Is it bad for you in any way?
