Sport Semolina Pasta

Sport Fitness
The Pasta that I've been eating for the past month or so is made of 100% Semolina. I really dont know what that is, and I'd like to know if thats a good or bad thing. I eat pasta 3-4 times a week (I alternate either Pasta or brown rice with my protein source for lunch and dinner) and I want to make sure the pasta is good.

This is about what I eat on the days that I make it. 1.5 servings per meal, for lunch and dinner.

Semolina flour is a basically a white flour where your body is concerned. It's made from Durum wheat and the flour itself is yellowish in color, which gives pasta it's pretty yellow color. It is highly refined and your body processes the simple carbs quickly (same as white sugar and white rice).

You might try whole wheat pasta if you can't give up the regular pasta... white flour isn't good for you and whole wheat pasta is a decent alternative. You can get it mostly anywhere, wal-mart even has it. I can't taste a difference, but my hubby won't eat it (bear in mind that he won't try ANYTHING new where food is concerned).

Hope this helps!

So just purchase pasta that says 100% whole wheat? I'll try that. Since its such a big part of my diet (about 25-30% of my daily intake on the days I eat it) I want to get the healthiest type possible.

Thanks
