Heya, see, I just got word a semi-professional football team will be sprouting up near me. I'm 19 years old and have been in community college for a year in a half, but before this, HS football was my life. I was extremely passioniate (I still am) about the sport; however, highschool football was just that. Highschool football. Not that I'm going to the pros, but there were never any cuts for HS. The things they will be looking at at the tryouts coming in March are the 225 benchpress-text, 40 yard run, and the 5,10,5 drill.
Here is my issue. I'm not at all tall, nor outstandingly fast. I've very much average in both those fields. My highest bench was 315; which, on the hole, isn't tremendous. I played both offensive and defensive line in HS, where I could get away with being short, but I really need to compensate my strength for my height if I'm going to have any chance.
I digress. What I'm really here for is advice, drills, and lifts to help me achieve the strength and speed I'm going to need to compensate for my height.
Thank you in advance
