Seem to be just staying at the same weight?

I'm really getting sad, no matter how much I seem to be trying or whatever I do I'm staying at my same weight. I'm currently 16 years old, I'm 5'8" and I weigh 120 pounds, sounds thin but I still have like pudgy sides and my stomach isn't flat at all, I'm very active and I eat really healthy but my stomach fat doesn't want to go anywhere. I've been "dieting" for several months now, I started at 120 pounds.... and I'm still here! Still pudgy.

That isn't me, but it's a good representation of what I currently look like and what I'd like to look like.
My usual daily activities are: 20 minute walk to school, 30 minute walk at lunch, 1/2 mile run in my PE class and whatever other activities we do, 20 minute walk back home, 30-40 minute of exercise and/or yoga in a day each day, and on the weekends I run a mile through my park and do about an hour of exercises and/or yoga in a day
What I usually eat: Peanut butter on wheat English muffins, cherries, apples, bananas, wheat tortilla wraps with lettuce and mozzarella cheese, slices of French bread, wheat spaghetti/pasta usually plain with just sea salt, Cheez-its, Cheerios, Rice Krispies, diabetic yogurts (so instead of 28g of sugar they have 2g), chicken breast on the grill, coconut, plain bagels with nothing, naan bread plain with nothing, lots of squashes plain, like acorn and winter squash, plain oatmeal with a little salt, lots of kiwis, pears, and I only ever drink water and unsweetend almond milk, and I have two cups of hot tea every day with no sugar.
I usually only eat 1500-1900 calories a day, I counted my calorie intake for five days and that was the average. My friend pointed out the other day it might be my intake of carbs, that I do eat alot of bread and pasta and other carb heavy foods. I didn't eat anything for two days and only ate 300 calories for three days because I got desperate and at the end of those five days I only weighed 118 :( It's been three days since and I'm back at 120 and I'm eating my norm again, I just really want a flat stomach and toned body.

I'm not professionnal but I can share you some of my knowledge;

I would definetly say it's the carbs, you are almost just eating carbs haha ! Your body can't use fat as energy if you give it plenty of easier energy ! Carbs is the first thing a body burn. And that's why low-carb diet work well (a little bit too well since its hard to keep the pounds off). Try eating more proteins and less carbs, and lower your intake ?

And don't starve yourself, at the end you'll just gain. You shouldnt eat less than 1200 cals a day (average of what your body need to make your organs function properly).

Yeah I've never counted carbs ever in my life or even cared about them at all, I don't think even think till this past year I really even knew what they were x) I eat like several pieces of bread a day and a bowl of pasta/noodles everyday haha I think I'm going to cut all carbs out for a few months and continue with my daily routine minus carbs, should hopefully work :D

Just to share with you what I did. Just PLAN the portion you want to eat. Instead of three times a day. Make your meal into 5 to 6 times with smaller portions. Next thing, eat bits by bits and try to bite food little by little instead of big chunk before swallowing. Make your mouth work hard instead of your stomach. Don't forget to drink plenty of water. These simple steps need practices. After a while as you get adjusted, you can control your eating habit.

I usually don't count calories. What I did is plan, do it correctly and at the end I enjoy what I eat and get the best of what I eat. Hopefully it works.

FYI I found a tool that helps me count my calories, carbs, and protein it is myfitnesspal.com and it has any food you can imagine in there...I was not big on worrying about carbs, but this tool showed me that I was consuming alot more carbs that I knew....Check it out and I hope that it helps

Hi Healthy Amy,

I would like to suggest that if you have any suggestions to make, please do so right here publicly so other can benefit from your advice.

Definitely reduce the carbs dear... you don't have to cut it out completely but you'd be surprised what a few slices of bread, pasta and bagels all add up to, even with no spread or topping :( I've been there too

I use calorie king (google it) to measure calories and a rough portion size and also kitchen scales are awesome! Esp the little electronic ones.

Try that for a month and see how it goes :D
