Seeking a healthy road

Hi there,

I have been trying to lose weight for about a year now. I have tried some more "controversial" methods on my journey to a slimmer figure and I have to admit that my relationship with food has gotten even worse. I do not have an ED, but I feel like it's only a matter of time if I don't change my ways.
I came across this forum while browsing for diets and I think this may help me regain control and begin my weight loss (the healthy and more permanent way).

I don't know my actual weight as of today, but I know it's somewhere between 65 and 64 kg (143.3 - 141.1 lbs).
I originally wanted to reach 52 kg (115 lbs) by New Years, but I have to be realistic and I'd rather be happy than underweight, so I'm going for 55 kg (121.2 lbs) instead. I think that is more responsable.

My plan is to have a net calorie intake of 1200 per day. So if I exercise I can eat more if I feel like it.
What do you guys think?
Oh..! And hi! :D

Hi :)

I like that you recognize that if you are going to exercise that you need more calories. Most people who are cutting calories don't add in the extra energy for a good workout. You aren't very overweight, so with a bit of exercise and smart eating, I think you can reach your goal.

Thank you so much for replying :)
I'm very happy that you think my project seems doable, I have been doubting myself a lot lately, leading to more eating = me gaining weight. It is great motivation to read your reply :)

Hi and welcome!

One thing I would say is to not put too much stress on yourself to lose weight by a specific time. Stress and getting anxious, especially about your diet and weight, can lead to you to being unhappy and thus cheating on your diet and not seeing a reason to continue. I would focus on eating good quality food (I think more than 1200 calories especially if you are working out) and just work on getting better every day. This is a process, and you seem to have a good direction to start. Don't get frustrated, you got this =)
