So is sea salt any lower in sodium than regular table salt? Companies try to position sea salt as a healthy substitute to table salt but is there really any difference??
Sea salt is different because it contains the other 70 or so minerals that are in ocean water, including some iodine. Your body needs these minerals. So by definition by weight it does have less sodium because it has other stuff in it. If you think your body needs minerals, then you might want to try sea salt instead of purified table salt.
Also, if your sea salt is pure white and looks like purified table salt, then it may not be sea salt. Sea salt is usually grey, or yellow, or green (I have some from Hawaii that is red).
