I can't comment on the Schwinn, but if you think you will have trouble getting the motivation to get to the gym, then I expect you'll have the same trouble getting motivated to use the elliptical trainer. Having it at home will certainly make if more convenient, but there are tons of elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, home gym equipment and such gathering dust in people's homes. The good news is, because of that, if you want to buy one, you should be able to find what you want on the used market for probably a quarter the cost of buying it new, assuming you are in a big enough market. Bottom line though is to be successful you need to make whatever exercise you decide to do a routine that you prioritize above other distractions that tend to provide the excuse for not exercising.
