School assessment.

For sports lifestyle and recreation i have this assessment.

Design an annual training program for an athlete in a sport of your choice. In the program you must include pre-season, in season an off season training. you must also include pre-season, in season an off season training. You must also include the sub phases and the macro and micro cycles of the plan.

So i want to do it on either bodybuilding or power lifting. any help on how to do it or what i need to know would be appreciated :)

Yeah, so do i because teachers often give their students assignments on stuff they havn't learnt...

On a more serious note, I did this very same stuff at TAFE last year so i could literally scan your assignment for you (I won't though :p ). My room is a mess at the moment and i've been meaning to clean it for about 6 months now lol so i'll let you know if i find anything.

I appreciate and understand your passion for bodybuilding but in my opinion, that would be a very hard sport to do this on, based on the fact that it's very one dimensional...For bodybuilding, you have to be big, that's it really...there's no flexability training, no skills training, flexability, aerobic, anaerobic etc...I guess you could argue flexability training if you wanted to include a splits or something in a routine but for the most part, i imagine a training program for a bodybuilder would be a boring read for your teacher (keep that part in mind!).

I was also gonna say that a powerlifting routine would be boring as well but i think you could make it interesting by possibly designing a program for an athlete involved in a strongman comp...Although, i still imagine it would be hard to do...BUT in saying that, you probably know a lot more about these two sports than i do...

actually, teachers sometimes do if they want to teach their students how to research and find info themselves.
I was just wondering why he asked here if he has a textbook. He should just read the text book and maybe post some ideas he has.

No text book really for this subject, but i do have a ton of notes in my book lol. I just though i would make a post and see if people would reply with anything usefull. I could do it by myself with effort its just i been busy doing other IPT homework that i have to catch up with because i came to school in week 6 so i got so much $$$$ to do still. This is also part 2 of the assessment and i have done part 1 which was learning how to juggle and like analyzing it.
 
Why not do it on a thrower. You can go to and on their forum, they have a ton of threads on inseason vs offseason and lifts and etc.

You know...if you can find a copy of Christian Thibaudeau's Black Book of Training Secrets he has some stuff set up like what you need. Also, the NSCAs text Essentials of Strength and Conditioning has a few templates in it for football, volleyball, and a couple of other sports.

Also, keep in mind that in-season and off-season for strength sports can be kinda hectic and you may not have an off-season.

Powerlifting could be fun as it would give you an excuse to go read everything at and even email Dave Tate or Jim Wendler.
