Well here starts the rest of my life, I'm changing it forever. I know it sounds like a revelation, but it happened on Mother's Day. We went out to dinner, husband and two kids, and then shopping. Wel NOTHING and I mean NOTHING fit :((. I was horrified! I just don't know why I let myself get this big :(. But the good news is I'm going to change this. Not only for my health but for my kids health as well. They don't deserve a fat mom. They deserve one that can keep up with them, play with them, all the sports they love. I am going to do this, I started today by walking to work, about 12 blocks, instead of driving. I also will walk for about an hour after work with the kids as they ride their bikes. Any advice is appreciated!!!

Good luck to you sarajojo. It won't be easy but your reward will be SO worth the hard work!

(Maybe you can start by posting your food intake for critiquing (that's what I did) :) )

That is a great idea. Good luck with your goals. Make sure your diet is good, otherwise results will be hard to come by. A good mix of diet, cardio, and resistance training is what you need.

You sound determined! We're here to suppport you on your journey. :) Those clothes WILL fit and you WILL have energy to play with the kids!
You have great ideas so far. A mix of proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise and strength training will make a huge difference. If I can ever help, please just let me know!

food intake

Okay food intake, for yesterday Monday, May 22nd

Breakfast: 1/2 c skim milk
3/4 c Cheerios, the ones with dried strawberries & banans

Snack @ 10am: baby carrots, about 8

Lunch: Sandwich w/ 2 slices whole wheat Sara Lee bread
which included, 3 thin slices of turkey breast
lots of tomato and lettuce
1/3 c of skim cottage cheese

Snack @ 3:30pm: Mango w/chilli powder

Dinner: Orange chicken salad which included
3 c of lettuce
1/2 avocado
little bit of onion
6 oz of orange chicken I made with 1/2 cup of all natural
orange juice
one Roma tomato
topped off with 15 squirts of those new salad spritzers, they are really good!!!

Is this a reasonable amount of food, and sensible food to eat, any advice would be great!
It was a good day yesterday :). I walked to work, and then home at lunch. Drove back, I had errands to run after work that were too time consuming or else I think I would have walked, it was a really nice day yesterday like only 78 degrees :D. Thanks for they replies, I believe that I will have questions in the future, it's nice to know people care about other people's health, mental and physical, again Thank you! Then after work I got on the tread mill, went for about 30 minutes, for a total of 1 hour 10 minutes, and then played baseballl with my kids and husband.
 
That chicken sounds really good!

Good start with the food choices. Do you have an estimation of calories? It looks a little low, but then again I'm not sure how active you were or how many calories you have been eating up until now.
One thing I would do is spread out your protein throughout the day. It's a good idea to have your meals be a balance of protein and carbs. It looks like the majority of your protein was in that last meal.

I haven't really added up calories, I feel overwhelmed when I do, if someone could help me on this I'd appreciate it. I will start eating maybe boiled eggs for breakfast or maybe in my salad at lunch.

May 23rd food intake:

Breakfast:

1 c Cheerios with the dried strawberries & bananas already in the box
1 c Skim Milk

Snack:

1 boiled egg
5 baby carrots


Lunch:

Sandwich...2 slices of whole wheat Sara Lee bread
3 slices of chopped ham
mustard
lots of tomato and lettuce, few onions

Snack:

skipped


Dinner:
Bake pork chop
refried pinto beans, not as bad as they sound, I only use a 1/2 T of EVOO, (extra virgin olive oil)
Salad...lettuce, tomato, carrots

I feel guilty about eating the pork chop, but it was extra lean and was baked so I don't think that it was that bad, someone inform me if it was.

I walked to work and home at lunch drove back to work. Wanted to get on the tread mill after work, but my son had baseball practice, and a storm was coming in and didn't want to leave him alone @ the baseball field, for fear of that, lol it's tornado season where I live.

Today is going well, I walked to work, 12 blocks, then @ lunch I walked to my mom's house to eat lunch, 5 blocks. I packed my own lunch and told her to put any junk away, if your mom's are like mine she's the grandma and has ALL kinds of goodies, damn I just love her "Snicker Fudge" if I find a low fat way to make it I'll share it, or if anyone likes I'll share :D. Then I'll be walking home this evening, and it doesn't look like I'll have time to work out after work, I have softball practice this evening, I coach my daughters team.
Tomorrow I'll update on my food intake for today, as I don't know what I'll have for dinner, prob a chicken salad of some type.
