Well, day one. I just joined at 265 lbs. I intend to get to 140 or so. I just stopped the horrendous soda habit that I have been on. I am upping the water intake again and trying to get moving. Hoping to utilize the GI diet at this point along with walking and working out. wish me luck. :)

Yeah it is - it's the only way I have ever in my life been able to lose weight and keep going ! I'm excited you're here! Keep drinkin your water!
 
Welcome to our forum!!!!!!....You have nothing to lose here but lbs..and nothing to gain here but friends, motivation, and the power to amaze yourself....( I stole the last part from a curves poster...lol..)
 
Soda is addictive isn't it? When I first started teaching I joked about my IV bag of diet pepsi getting me through the day. People nodded to their coffee cups and said, "I know... CAFFIENE!" It wasn't the caffiene, it was the soda.
Now I try to limit myself to one or two diet pepsis a day.

You have definitely come to the right place Sandy. There are no judgemental people here, just friends. Walking is a great form of exercise. I saw on another thread that you have put yourself on a 3 soda budget. Why not after 2 weeks try getting yourself down to 2 sodas a day. It helps with the cravings when you ease off on the soda.
