Sandbag Training

Hey

What are your thoughts on sandbag training? I have been doing alot of sandbag training at rugby training and have seen great differences in matches.

I'm wanting to get one to use at home and take to my local gym, I have read some articles about how to make your own? Has anyone done this before?

I have made my own sandbags and I believe sandbag training is an excellent method for increasing overall strength, core strength, and functional movement strength.

The easiest method is to load sand into smaller packets such as gallon sized ziplocs, and wrap in duct tape. Then you can load your sandbag with the appropriate number of packets for whatever exercise you are doing, and you can use progressive resistance without a lot of mess.
