Running, Vomiting

I just recently started running, a year ago I trained with weights everyday, got to where I wanted to be quick. I gained a little weight, and I want to lose it and build up some strong endurance. So I run a mile everymorning now (Never been a strong runner) first time I couldn't make a mile and I threw up, that didnt bother me at all, I like to push my self, but I was woundering if that would be bad for me to do once or twice a week? And if I bought some ankle and wrist weights, and if I leave them on all day will that help tone me up and build overall strength, along with scheduled pushups and weight training? I plan on going into a part of the millitary, but I want to be more than a grunt- plus I think it would be nice if I went in, in good shape. Please I would like your suggestions.

Thank you.

I was in your shoes a few years ago when I trained up for the military.
I wouldn't wear ankle weights, it will mess with your form. Look at this forum here....

The whole site is dedicated to military training. Most people are there to learn about special forces fitness, but many of he the articles start at the beginner level. Also check out the military fitness newsletters here....

Milfit 1-14 is a perfect start for you..

Vomiting is from going too hard. You can do this once a week if you are in decent shape, but this won't help your endurance. The vomiting is from your body getting rid of stomach fluid so that it can absorb some of the acid you are producing from intense work. Usually you get this feeling from speed work.

I usually throw up if it's the first time i've run in a very long time. If you do it everyday, chances are it'll go away because your body will adapt. I started out three weeks ago running 1.5 miles a day and up it .1 miles each week. I hardly ever get that vomitting feeling anymore, except when i smoked too many cigarettes the day before or didn't eat anything the whole day.

If

If you push yourself past your limits you will be sick no matter how fit you are.
I know a few people (Brit Forces) who are very fit but still throw up on a BFT (1.5 mile warm up then 1.5 mile best effort) because they put 110 % effort into what they do. I've puked a few times myself on bft's but that is for the specific reason of getting the best time in the Regiment (I'm not saying that I did) If you don't really need to push that hard maybe you should build yourself up a touch more slowly...
