Running to lose weight

AI have been running on treadmill with some weight training to lose weight for about 2 months now. I however read about interval running for the first time a couple days ago and much more effective it is for fat loss. I run straight and steady pace about 5 times a week with about 4 miles each time. My question is if I do interval running say 3 times a week with less time than normal program will this be more effective?
 
i do interval running too and its way better than running normally! :) your body is able to focus more, you're feeling more comfortable and you're able to run for longer, be in motion which matters! imo its more effective :) ?
