Running Tips

Hey, during the school year, I go to my school's gym, but I do not have the money to pay for a gym during the summer. So, I figured to keep up with my cardio I would go running. My problem is I HATE running. Usually for cardio, I use the ellipitical or the bike. But running is cheap and easy. Unforuantly, running sparks my asthma up. Any tips? My guess is that it is just going to be...time? :/
