Running times.

OK so i have been reading around the from what i have read it is best to run in the evening because your lungs are at full capacity, at this point in time i am running at 6 am. what are the draw back running at this time? i head out to work at around 3:45pm would running at 2-2:30pm be better?

If i run at 6am would going back to sleep after the run be a bad idea?

Can you state your source because I'd like to read it for myself.

I love to run in the morning. However, I think it's a good idea to run at all times of the day in order to acclimate to different conditions. If you just asked "When should I run?", I would say run whenever you want or can fit it into your schedule.

But still, post the source if you can.

I vastly prefer running in the evenings, for cooling reasons - at a trot I put out more BTUs than my roommate's brazier, I kid you not. Well, okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. But not by much!

Most people run either in the early am or the evening because it's cooler. Were I you, I would run in the afternoon. Just realize it'll be a bit more difficult, because of the heat, and you will need to take more care with your hydration. Don't recommend waking up, running and then going back to sleep. It might mess with your (circadian) rhythm, and likely lessen the quality of your sleep (due to all those pump-you-up exercise endorphins swimming about in you).
